David (he/him/his) is a compassionate and curious psychotherapist, often noted for his calm and gently direct nature. David is a Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC) and Licensed Graduate Professional Counselor (LGPC) in Maryland. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology with Clinical Psychology Concentration from Robert Morris University, and a Master of Arts degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Indiana University of Pennsylvania.
David supports individuals, couples, and families in more fully connecting with themselves and each other. As an LGBTQIA+ ally and child of a first-generation immigrant, David strives to holistically acknowledge each person’s cultural heritage, gender identity, family-of-origin influences, life experiences, and other interconnected parts.
David provides a safe and comfortable environment, where clients may experiment with new ways of being, and experience new ways of relating. He is a highly collaborative psychotherapist, empowering each client to co-create the working relationship and voice what they need for success.
David believes that, through self-exploration, people naturally discover new and meaningful choices. His therapeutic style draws primarily from Gestalt theory: a holistic, experiential, relational, and culturally sensitive approach to personal growth. He also fluidly integrates Internal Family Systems, Imago Relationship Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, mindfulness, and other therapeutic frameworks, depending on client needs.
David’s career has consisted of psychotherapy in outpatient and intensive outpatient settings, across both the mental health and substance use domains. He has collaborated with clients to work through and improve depression, anxiety, trauma, addiction, communication, boundaries, life-balance, self-esteem, transitional challenges, and a range of other concerns. He has facilitated psychedelic support groups, and completed trainings on therapeutic applications of ketamine and psilocybin. He has also successfully conducted individual and group counseling through in-person, virtual tele-therapy, and other creative delivery methods.
David is continually advancing his skills through the Gestalt Institute of Pittsburgh, ongoing education, and his own personal exploration and work. In his free time, David enjoys rock-climbing, producing short films, and embarking on video-game quests.
