Jin Zhang (she/her) is a Licensed Graduate Professional Counselor (LGPC) in Maryland. She graduated from Johns Hopkins University with a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. She also holds a Master’s degree in Applied Psychology (Medical Psychology Track) from a Medical University in China.

Jin is originally from China, and she can speak both Mandarin and English. Due to the bicultural experience, she embraces diversity and is open to working with clients of different races, ethnicities, identities, and cultures. She is an LGBTQIA+ ally and adheres to multicultural and social justice practices. 

Jin specializes in treating clients with anxiety and depression disorders, emotional distress regarding life transitions, intimate relationships, self-exploration, and women’s mental health. Also, she is experienced in connecting with Asian Americans, African immigrants, and international students. 

Jin tends to work with clients through a humanistic-existential perspective, respecting their uniquenesses and believing in their own capacities and potentials to heal and grow. She is committed to building a genuine, supportive and tolerant environment for clients to explore their dilemmas safely, find their own ways to live a more productive life, and better become themselves.

Jin received training in Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) at Johns Hopkins University, and now she is engaged in ongoing training in Expressive Art Therapy. She is eclectic in therapeutic strategies, adopting different and flexible techniques based on clients’ needs and status.
